Quilt Raffle for the Troops
We were inspired by an article in our local paper. "Dozens of care package boxes for deployed military personnes sit here in a self-storage facility. About $20,000 will need to be raised by a nonprofit - Touch of Home: Support 4R Deployed Military Inc. - to get the packages to those fighting overseas." We read in The Sun Newspaper. We called and spoke to Diane Boone, the founder of Touch of Home and proud mom of Rebecca, an Army sergeant who served in Iraq. She is a wonderful lady who is doing great things for our troops.
We are always willing to help a worthy cause and this seems like one to us! Beautiful care packages are just waiting to be sent to our troops so we're doing our part in getting them there with a quilt raffle. The quilt is lap size and made from Moda's Porcelain line of fabric and everyone that sees it loves it! It was one of our featured quilts at Road to California.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.00. We are hoping to raise a significant amount of money. Visit our blog for your chance at tickets purchased by our staff! Also, you can purchase tickets via the blog or come into the shop. You're welcome to visit www.touchofhomeformilitary.com to see where the money is going.
